Cold Weekend

This weekend was a cold one. The lows around here are breaking records. For us the worry is that the pipes in the house might freeze.
They have not and the temps are on the way up so that worry is over but it is still so cold.
Also for this weekend our house does not keep its heat to well so the house was cold the whole weekend.
The other thing for me is this weekend I was a nursemaid to mom.
The reason is that on Friday mom called because I had taken the car and she wanted me to come and get her early from work because of how she felt. She spent all of Saturday lying on the couch with 6 to 7 blankets and just chilled there for the day doing nothing but watching TV and eating soup. She did not really up until yesterday. Today she when to the doctor and was told that she would have to stay home until next Monday.
Right now I am working (can’t say more) but I really don’t care for the job but it is money, which I need. But I am looking something else so think good thoughts for me.

Crazy, Sick, and Gross Christmas

Ok,
This starts Christmas Eve; mom every year will not let us do anything inside until Christmas Eve. Now the thing is that she kept putting off bringing in the tree and taking down the boxes so I had to push her to do that at 11:30am so the rest of the day was kind of crazy. Then at about 4pm I started to feel sick (headache runny nose and tired) so by the time of Church at 5pm (only time of year I go) I felt really really bad. So I when to bed at 8pm and slept in as well.
When I got up though we opened presents at home and then spent 6 to 7 hours at my Aunt S house with family. We ate and talked and just had a nice time. By the time we left though it was so late we decide not to got to the movies but stay home and watch some of the movies mom got for Christmas (thanks Elaine)
Mom decided to do dishes before we did the big Christmas cooking that is when a gross thing happened. We have a two-sink kitchen sink and she was sending water down one and it was not going so she turned on the garbage disposal, which was connected to that sink. The water when down only to come up the other one black and really really really stinky.
So our Christmas dinner was done at Denny’s. It was not a bad meal plus the chicken we were planning to have had not fully defrosted so we will have it today.
Today we discovered that mom's Christmas candle (light a candle on Christmas Eve to help Guided St. Joseph and leave it lit all night) poured wax down the sink and blocked it so it could not drain. The plumber took the pipe off to get all the wax out and now it works fine
Now lets see what New Year brings

Long Weekend

This last weekend was just soooo busy.
First Friday I had to go shopping for a party dress I got one that I liked the look of but mom when she saw it latter that night though it sucked so I took it back and I found something the next morning.
Now late Friday I also picked up a cute little car. It is a two seated no door car which I will put a photo of on flikr. I had to drive it around to get use to it. Then I set it up for a charge. I had it to drive it for the night of the Christmas tree lane lighting to carry stuff and people.
The next day I found out that because of the old wiring in our house it never charged the car and I found this out three hours before I needed it and it takes four hours to charge. So we set it to charge and prayed
We needed it so I used it.
It sprinkled a little right before the show and then it stopped. Then just as the band marched down the street and the lights came on bam it starts raining and then the rain pours down as I drive Mrs. Altadena down the hill. Then as we go up the rain slows and then stops and so does the car. The batteries die just as I hit the library parking lot driveway. Luckily for me it was coming back up. We push it into the lot and let it sit as we pack up. If we let it sit the batter gets enough juice to take it down the hill.
After we pack the car starts and I take it to the Wards and we eat drink and talk.
The next day mom leaves for her quilting class.
That night my office has its party. This is the big one with over 200 people. It was fun I took Amy and we ate talked and danced again late into the night.
I had fun but it just wore me down.

Quick Change

Ok,
We have had quick changes in tempter.
Last week we had temps in the high 80s and low 90s. This is in November when we have temps in the 70s. The highs mean that we were breaking records all over the area.
Now switch to this week were we are having temps that are in the 20s at night. The one thing that I am glad of is that this weekend we finally got the heater turned on.
Here's the thing this past May we had the house fumigated and they turned off the gas. When we had it turned back on the gasman would not turn our heater on because it did not meet code. We left it off through the summer why use gas when we don't need it. Then come winter we had problems turning the heater on. Luckily for us the handy man (working on the back house) turned it on so we did not freeze.
The only good new is that tonight will be the last night of cold.

1. My mom she can drive me crazy sometimes but without her I don't know where I will be today.
2. The cats they make life nice.
3. My oldest sister she is a great place to bounce things off of.
4.My Health because I can't pay if I was sick.
5.Flickr It is a great place to show things
